Sam Simon is auctioning his ‘Simpsons’ Emmys…(Here’s Lookin’ At You, Family Guy!)
Seth MacFarlane and the producers of Family Guy may actually get a few Emmys this year…IN AUCTION! That’s because the estate of the recently departed Simpsons producer Sam Simon is auctioning off all nine of his Emmy trophies that were won for The Simpsons and The Tracey Ullman Show.
All proceeds are going to the Sam Simon Charitable Giving Foundation, which helps worthy causes including animal welfare, poverty alleviation and disaster relief.
Among Simon’s other items to be auctioned are his comic book collection, Ansel Adams photographs (?), boxing memorabilia and artwork. The live and online auction is set for February 21 at Abell Auction Company’s Los Angeles gallery.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
