Netflix: Disenchantment A Smash Hit ; Company Inks “Gravity Falls” Creator

On the back of Disenchantment’s 4.4 million views of the show’s pilot episode here in the US, Netflix has announced a new deal with Alex Hirsch (Gravity Falls) to develop adult animated series for the streaming service.
Our Take
We hear that Alex has had a couple of ideas for adult animated series for a few years now, even way back when he was in his Fish Hooks days on Disney channel, so expect a series to be picked up before the end of the year. This comes on the heels of a long line of original series being picked up by the streaming service including Paradise PD which premieres this Friday and upcoming series like Tuca & Bertie to go along with new seasons of BoJack Horseman, Big Mouth, F is for Family, and a slew of others all happening within the next six months. Suffice to say, Netflix is building up a catalog that can rival anyone on the planet.
