It Has Been A Bad Year For Fans Of “Futurama”…But It Gets Better

It’s getting rough out there.

A number of change.org petitions have popped up as a result of an ongoing rumor floating around that Netflix will indeed be relinquishing the streaming rights to Futurama. All this after Bongo Comics canceled the print-version of Futurama thereby making a quite a bit lighter digital-only version.

Fortunately, Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow, the new mobile game from TinyCo is inbound and the company has been promoting the game with new Futurama shorts!

But, I’m with most of the 20 million Facebook fans about Futurama, it’s a crying shame that we can’t get new episodes of the television series. I get it, it’s probably an expensive show and Matt Groening doesn’t want to share merch revenue which means FOX would be the only likely destination, but most of us thought Netflix MAYBE could’ve been the next landing spot for the series after cancellations from both FOX and Comedy Central over the last near two decades.

And I don’t think the petitions will change that anytime soon.
