English Dub Review: Lupin the Third Part 4 “I’m Going to Get You Lupin”
So says, everyone.
Overview (Spoilers Below)
This week, Rebecca wants on Lupin so when the master thief announces he’s in Italy, Rebecca tells the city that she’s gonna capture him. A friendly game of cat and mouse ensues as the two go to various banks around town leaving notes and traps for each other, but Lupin’s not breaking into the banks for a bunch of cash or jewels. He’s looking to settle a bet against Jigen by locating a rare banknote, which the thief does and then absconds with Rebecca away from police activity mainly thanks to Rebecca’s butler helping out with a bazooka. Once Lupin and Rebecca are safe, Lupin disappears and Rebecca gets a lift.
Our Take
Our first Lupin of 2018 gives us some nice sentiment to go along with our atypical Lupin plot but doesn’t do much to truly advance us to the two-part finale that kicks off next week. Really the episode was one long montage, but any chance to see Robson take out a bank with a bazooka is a decent evening for me. It doesn’t appear that Lupin is all that interested in a tryst with Rebecca…but Fujiko on the other hand?

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
