Comedy Central orders scripts for TWO new animated series

Comedy Central picks up TWO new animated series

The always dependable and awesome THR has the exclusive low-down on Comedy Central ordering scripts for a bunch of new comedies, TWO of which are animated.  Here’s an excerpt from the article below:

“There’s Gajillionaires, a half-hour animated show about the uber-wealthy Benjamin and George Krabbe and their misadventures in the world of big business. Bailouts, corrupt senators, sycophantic cronies like Chef Boyardee and Dick Cheney and an undying love for Tipper Gore are all along for the ride.

The project, created, written and produced by Yoni Brenner (Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs), counts Joel Kuwahara, Scott Greenberg and Mark McJimsey of Bento Box along with Peter Principato, Paul Young and Tucker Voorhees of Principato/Young Entertainment as executive producers.

Among the other scripts Comedy Central has ordered: Grubstein & Grubstein, an animated comedy created and co-executive produced by Arthur Jones and Karl Ackerman based on two twenty-something brothers who inherit a Brooklyn brownstone filled with oddball tenants.”

Both shows sound pretty awesome, and its great to hear that Bento Box(they are the same studio that animates Bob’s Burgers and Allen Gregory) is staying  busy with not only the “Gajillionaires” project but also the recently announced “Johnny’s Bananas”-based on the show within a show as featured on “The Entourage”.

The second show, Grubstein & Grubstein sounds pretty awesome because it kind of has the same premise as “The PJs” and i was a big fan of that show.  On a related note with Comedy Central, all this news comes off the recently announced animated series coming from Exec Producer Daniel Tosh and Co-creators Roger Black and Waco O’Guin called “Brickleberry”.
