Comedy Central News: Animated Comedies “Fairview” And “Washingtonia” Slated For Fall Premieres; Billy West Tapped To Reprise Ren & Stimpy Roles

Comedy Central has announced that they have two new animated series premiering Fall 2021 and both will have a shared panel at New York Comic-Con to tell ya all about it.

First up, from Neil D’Astolfo comes “Washingtonia” which is an animated story of a rising political star and his deeply incompetent staff navigating the way deeper incompetence of Washington. Neil is a longtime producer for the Emmy-nominated Tooning Out The News which streams daily on Paramount+, and has also voiced the role of Anthony Fauci for Our Cartoon President.

Another new series, Fairview, is a weekly, hyper-topical, half-hour adult animated show about how national politics causes wild small town drama in the Natty Light-chugging, grocery store parking lot-fighting, public urinating town of Fairview through the lens of its sloppy party girl turned pragmatic mayor Kelly Sampson.

Both new franchises are taking part in a shared NYCC panel that you can get details for here.

In related Comedy Central news, the network’s upcoming The Ren & Stimpy Show reboot is still very much alive and well and show star and legendary voice actor Billy West has announced that he is returning to reprise his iconic roles as the show’s titular characters. Billy has also confirmed that show co-creator Bob Camp is back in the fold along with Jim Gomez and Billy Wray. This despite ridiculous efforts to get the show canceled before it premiered for silly reasons, it’s awesome to hear that Comedy Central appears to be charging forward with the classic reboot.
