Review: Family Guy – Take a Letter (S14Ep17)

Kathryn Hahn guest stars as "Gretchen"

Spoilers Below

Lois decided to look into a new ritzy preschool for Stewie after seeing some unpleasant things happening at his current one. With the need for money, Cleveland offered her a job at the post office. Cleveland took her under his wing and showed her the ropes. He explained that an empty hangar attached to the post office was a staging area for an expected delivery of tens of thousands of Real Dolls. Following that, an Amazon drone comically stalked and belittled the two of them during a route.

During her time training, Lois found a letter written by Peter to his ex-girlfriend, Gretchen. In a jealous fit, she delivered it and wanted to hear what it contained. As Gretchen read it aloud, she told Lois she had nothing to worry about and he was writing about something insignificant. We later find out that Peter was second-guessing marrying Lois a week before their wedding.

As Stewie was getting comfortable in his new school, he shortly realized he was surrounded by kids born into more wealth than he was. Discouraged by this, he threw a party at a stranger’s mansion only to be caught by his new friends he was attempting to impress.

Cleveland was the star of the episode when it came to humor. There was one line in the episode where the term “blackmail” was used perfectly. I was laughing for a good minute. Everything else seemed to fall a little short for me.
