Kirby gets asked to make a cartoon/commercial for the S&P. Problem is, the manager wants cartoon clowns as part of the advertisement and Kirby is deathly afraid of clowns. Fish and Eli opt to help Kirby get over his fears, but it really doesn’t work out. Thankfully, Eli is way smarter than Fish, and comes up with a way for Kirby to get the job done. The commercial airs and it goes over well, but angry clowns show up because they weren’t exactly thrilled with the way clowns are depicted.

Meanwhile, Belinda and Dawn try to fit in with the popular girls led by Mandy McDaniels. The duo fail miserably, and decide to declare war. At first, Dawn tries to convince Kirby to kick Mandy out of his cartoon, but when he declines she decides to respond with a cake, but dad blows it up in hysterical fashion. Kirby shows up at the house and tells Belinda and Dawn about the clowns and they agree to help Kirby get over his fear and save Mandy…but Mandy can’t stay dry.

Our Take

Clowns aren’t scary…bears are scary. In any case, I was rather disappointed with the ending of this week’s Kirby Buckets because I like it when Dawn and Kirby get along because it always has this ‘Buckets vs the World’ mentality, so to see that dissipate so fast…ugh.

Overall, I liked the premise of this week’s episode of Kirby Buckets. The boss clown was super funny, and I enjoyed watching Eli flip out while being held hostage. Also, Belinda searing a picture of Mandy with an iron  and then hacking on it is the funniest thing I’ve seen her do in this show.

We did have a couple more drawbacks however. For starters, I find it ironic that Fish took an acting class, and yet, somehow still can’t act. Moreover, whomever put together Kirby’s clown costume needs to quit because the get-up looked like a disaster, especially the mask. THAT was scary.
