Death Stranding Isolations Debuts New Teaser Trailer
The expanding universe of Death Stranding is heading to television screens with Death Stranding Isolations, an upcoming animated series slated to premiere on streaming platforms in 2027.
A brand-new teaser trailer for the series was recently unveiled during an industry exhibition. Created by Japanese animation studio E&H Production (Ninja Kamui, Magic Knight Rayearth) and directed by Takayuki Sano, the series tells an original story set immediately following the events of the original post-apocalyptic narrative.
Story & Production Details
The series follows a young girl who has grown to prefer absolute isolation after a cataclysmic event caused by the dead colliding with the living. However, chance encounters thrust her into a tumultuous landscape as America rebuilds. The official synopsis sets the stage for the narrative:
“My mom became a crater.” The Death Stranding—a catastrophic series of explosions caused when the dead crept into our world and collided with the living. In the wake of this cataclysm, many were forced to live in absolute isolation—among them, a young girl… Fate has other plans for her, however, and chance encounters see her launched headfirst into a world she does not recognize.
The hand-drawn animated series will feature diverse characters navigating the fractured world, including a wise connector, a female soldier caught in a cycle of war, and an angry youth, all charting paths distinct from the central storyline.
