English Dub Review: The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System “Mythril Giant”

Picking up where the previous episode, Elymas and Ruche face a rare Mythril Golem in hopes of obtaining valuable crafting materials. Using the narrow tunnels to their advantage, Elymas distracts the powerful monster while Ruche attempts to land critical hits with her Dice Thrust ability. After several failed attempts and a dangerous struggle, the pair eventually win, earning valuable loot and level-ups. However, Elymas is already considering their next challenge.
The Mythril Golem fight features an impressive monster design and some enjoyable teamwork, while Ruche’s Lady Luck ability continues to prove useful. The new opening and ending themes are also welcome additions, with Tokoyami Towa performing the opening and Ruche starring in an adorable chibi dance. Unfortunately, the lengthy recaps, repetitive dialogue, and sluggish pacing continue to hold the episode back, making its limited story progression feel unnecessarily stretched out.
Overall, the animation and fantasy soundtrack remain strong points, but the series continues to struggle with pacing and overused footage. While the battle provides some entertaining moments, the excessive repetition makes it difficult to stay invested in the action. The new theme songs offer a refreshing change of pace, but the anime still needs to balance its visual strengths with tighter storytelling and more meaningful progression.
