English Dub Review: Hell Mode: The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World With Garbage Balancing “Allen Spills The Beans”
Overview:
Allen decides to tell his parents about his abilities.
Our Take:
This show is starting to become enjoyable for me. I’m starting to think that some shows like this one might need a certain mindset to become fun. I’m currently in the middle of playing a big fantasy RPG video game, and I can relate to how Allen feels. Of course, I’m not in the video game, but I don’t know how to explain it; Allen’s accomplishments feel like my accomplishments. Allen has learned to use some of his “weaker” summons in smart ways to take down a big monster. Once he learns that he can essentially pay for his family to become commoners, he sets his sights on earning enough to do that for the next few years. I can’t relate to grinding in a video game for years, but I suppose with this type of setup, it makes sense.
Allen is framing his abilities and powers as a blessing from one of the gods. So when the Baron insists that the village supplies more boar than seems possible, Allen has a plan. With his history playing MMO’s, he’s no stranger to getting noobs integrated into a veteran party. Despite some protests, they trust him to retry having commoners help in the hunt.
