‘Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity’ Set for U.S. Theatrical Premiere with English Dub Cast
Fans of Ichigo Kurosaki won’t have to wait for the small screen to witness the beginning of the end. Viz Media and Aniplex have announced that the first three episodes of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity (Part 4) will receive a special theatrical premiere in the United States this June.
While the return of the series is a global event, the theatrical screenings are generating particular excitement for North American fans as they mark the official debut of the high-stakes English dub for the final arc’s concluding chapters.
A Veteran Cast Returns
The English dub for The Calamity sees the return of the iconic voices that have defined the franchise for over two decades. Leading the charge is Johnny Yong Bosch, reprising his role as Ichigo Kurosaki. Bosch, who has voiced the substitute Soul Reaper since the original series debut in 2006, continues to anchor the emotional weight of the series as Ichigo faces his most personal battle yet.
Joining him is the core veteran ensemble, including:
-
Michelle Ruff as Rukia Kuchiki
-
Derek Stephen Prince as Uryu Ishida
-
Stephanie Sheh as Orihime Inoue
-
Wally Wingert as Renji Abarai
The Voice of the Enemy
One of the most anticipated aspects of the Part 4 dub is the performance of Richard Epcar as Yhwach, the Father of the Quincy. Epcar’s deep, authoritative delivery has been a standout of the Thousand-Year Blood War era, and the theatrical premiere promises to showcase the terrifying scale of the character’s “Almighty” powers through cinema-grade audio systems.
The dub will also feature the return of the remaining members of the Sternritter, the elite Quincy force, as the conflict between the Soul Society and the Wandenreich reaches its fever pitch.
Theatrical Experience and Sound Design
Viz Media has emphasized that the theatrical release is optimized for a premium audio experience. For dub fans, this means hearing the iconic “Bankai” declarations and the explosive sound effects of spiritual pressure in a surround-sound environment that television speakers simply cannot replicate.
The three-episode premiere is intended to bridge the gap between Part 3 and the finale, offering a continuous narrative flow that sets the stage for the final showdown.
Ticketing and Release Details
The special English-dubbed screenings will take place in select theaters nationwide starting June 12, 2026. Tickets are expected to go on sale in late May via major theatrical platforms. Following the limited theatrical run, the English-dubbed episodes will transition to their permanent streaming home on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally.
For a generation of fans who grew up watching Bleach on Adult Swim and Toonami, this theatrical event serves as a celebration of the English voice cast’s long-standing legacy and a grand kickoff to the series’ final animated chapter.
