English Dub Review: The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest “Alec and Yorha”
Overview
Yorha shows Alec around the town that has become his new home as an adventurer.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, this chapter focuses on Alec and Yorha sharing a warm, lightly comedic day in Fizel that quietly strengthens their bond, showcasing Alec’s straightforward sincerity and Yorha’s endearingly flustered reactions while touching on the wider history of Lasting Period through mentions of Loki, Ornest, Riwell, and Rechroma without revealing major details; their conversations gesture toward past rescues, small grudges, and lingering misunderstandings, yet the party’s closeness still shines through as Alec expresses where he truly wants to belong and Yorha hilariously misreads his honesty as something far more romantic.
As the lighthearted moments fade, the episode shifts toward new developments involving the party’s sudden promotion and the responsibilities that come with it. Their celebration is cut short when the aftermath of a violent attack reaches them, introducing a skilled swordswoman with serious injuries and a troubling claim of betrayal, while the arrival of a mysterious pink-haired dude from another team deepens the uncertainty, especially when he privately seeks Alec’s help for an upcoming dungeon raid…
Overall, the episode blends lighthearted bonding with the early stirrings of a larger conflict, placing Alec and Yorha’s growing chemistry at the center while the rest of Lasting Period add their usual humor and charm; their recent promotion hints at bigger adventures ahead, and the introductions of two specific characters lay the groundwork for the next storyline while keeping every character’s presence meaningful.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
