English Dub Review: Gachiakuta “Penta: The Desert No Man’s Land”
Overview
With their gear complete, the crew heads into the No Man’s Land, Penta, to get clues about the Sphere.
Our Take
This week’s episode of Gachiakuta slows its pacing, shifting focus from high-stakes battles to character interactions and world-building. Rudo and the Cleaners continue their mission, but much of the tension comes from the mysteries surrounding new faces and the strange rules of this world. Between scraps of exposition and oddball humor, the series shows both its eccentric charm and its tendency to dangle unanswered questions.
The introduction of new tools, eccentric allies, and suspicious encounters adds variety, even if the progression feels uneven. Scenes involving Rudo scavenging through junk, the Cleaners’ quirky support systems, and playful banter help keep things lively, while flashes of action remind viewers that danger is always close. The arrival of a striking new character also shifts the tone, hinting at bigger conflicts on the horizon without revealing too much too soon…
Overall, the episode balances its humor, eccentric style, and character moments while teasing new mysteries that will shape what comes next. Though some developments feel like deliberate stalling, the mix of oddball comedy, creative weaponry, and stylish animation keeps the energy alive. With ten episodes now aired, the series still leaves plenty of unanswered questions, but it’s clear that the foundation for the next stage of Rudo’s journey is firmly in place.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
