OUTtv PICKS UP ADULT ANIMATED SERIES peopleWatching, CREATED BY WINSTON ROWNTREE AND GEOFF LAPAIRE
Lapaire Productions, Cutting Class Media (Matters Beyond), and Lakeside Animation (Red Iron Road) are proud to announce that OUTtv has officially licensed the adult animated comedy series peopleWatching, which includes the long-awaited debut of its third season. The show will premiere on OutTV’s traditional broadcast channel starting August 21st at 9:30pm EST (airing at the same time each week) and all episode will also be available via their SVOD streaming service.
Created by Winston Rowntree and Geoff Lapaire, peopleWatching returns with eight new quarter-hour episodes in Season 3. The series is produced by Geoff Lapaire and Bracken Burns, with executive producers Geoff Lapaire, Winston Rowntree, Bracken Burns, Carly Sacks, and Joshua Bowen.
A poignant reflection on the gray areas of life, peopleWatching explores the spaces between friendship and romance, success and failure, normal and absurd—and the infinite limbo between youth and adulthood. Through the lens of a diverse ensemble cast, the series portrays how a group of strangers evolve into something resembling a social group, exposing the complexities of modern identity, emotion, and connection.
“Working with the Lakeside Animation team was just fantastic, I’m really pleased with the way everything came together. The animators brought Winston’s writing and artwork to life in a way that really pops this season.” – Geoff Lapaire (CEO Lapaire Productions)
“First and foremost, peopleWatching has always been for its fans, and bringing the new season to OUTtv means the series has found a home that truly understands its audience. OUTtv’s commitment to authentic, diverse storytelling makes it the perfect partner, and I’m grateful to be producing alongside Geoff to share Winston’s brilliant characters with an even wider viewership.” – Bracken Burns (Producer)
“Winston is a true auteur. From the art to the voice casting to the writing, Winston’s fingerprints are all over this show—and it really makes peopleWatching a special watch.”
— Joshua Bowen, Co-CEO and Head of Animation, Cutting Class Media
peopleWatching is one of ten project partnerships announced under the five-year partnership between Lakeside Animation and Cutting Class Media, revealed in the summer of 2024.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
