Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, the story has shifted focus towards one of Kihachi’s latest inventions, introducing a self-proclaimed romantic whose unusual request sends the cast on another lighthearted detour. Although largely a standalone story, the episode does a good job of showing how Kihachi’s inventions can affect the people around him while giving several supporting characters a chance to step into the spotlight. The romance-driven premise may not appeal to everyone, but it creates plenty of opportunities for the cast’s personalities and chemistry to shine.

Much of the episode’s humor comes from the invention itself, leading to a string of ridiculous reactions and some of the funniest moments in the series so far. Inako absolutely steals the show with her over-the-top expressions, while the cast’s escalating antics keep the comedy consistently entertaining. Beneath the laughs, the episode also adds a little more depth to a few side characters and their relationships, even if some of the romantic scenarios feel a bit awkward or don’t land as well as intended.

Overall, this ended up being one of my favorite episodes despite its standalone nature. It balances absurd comedy with small but meaningful character moments, making the supporting cast feel more fleshed out without relying on major plot developments. While the romance-centered story won’t work for everyone, the strong humor, memorable character interactions, and energetic presentation make it an enjoyable and surprisingly charming episode.
