English Dub Review: Sugar Apple Fairy Tale “The Castle with No Crest”

Overview

Anne decides to stay with the Paige Workshop, determined to see her work through to the end. They’re sent to a castle to use as both lodgings and workplaces to begin crafting, but the place has a strange atmosphere about it.

Our Take

For the next two months, the Paige workshop sets up shop at the abandoned Holy Leaf Castle to create sugar confections for the Holy Beginnings Festival. As Anne settles in, she hears voices coming from a ghost. The next morning, the artisans claim that their doors open even when they lock them to indicate the castle is haunted. Hugh makes a visit to tell the artisans that he will be visiting the castle regularly without warning to check the progress of the confections with the Mercury shop taking over if progress is lacking.

The artisans begin work, and then Bridget drops by with her new companion fairy Gladus, drawing criticism from Elliot as he accompanies her to see Glen. At night, Anne spots Bridget alone in the castle’s courtyard as she is ordered to return Gladus by Glen, and worried that she will catch a cold, Anne gives her a blanket. Anne returns to the castle with Orland reminding her that creating the confections takes priority. Elsewhere in the castle, Challe and Gladus have a conversation and Gladus reveals that despite being born out of a precious stone, he is unable to fight. Gladus then reveals to Challe a big secret…

Overall, this was quite an Interesting episode. Bridget needs some serious mental help. She got some serious issues due to the way she was raised. Like buying another fairy??! After all the shit she started just a few weeks ago with Challe and Anne? Fuck That! Despite Bridget being there, the work must not falter, and though Anne greaves her concern, both Challe and Gladus have their fairy talk, with the latter being birth from a precious stone. As for what happens next. I’m left curious.
