“Futurama” and “South Park” are big hits for Hulu
Could this justify a revival?
In what was possibly a catalyst for the recent pilot order for a new series being produced by the guys at Robot Chicken, Hulu has revealed interesting data about some streaming practices while doing up a panel at ATX where they not only double downed on South Park’s ability to pay down their monstrous licensing fees with 135 million hours of watching, but that the recently acquired Futurama from Netflix is already a hit with 35,000 subscribers watching all 10 seasons of the series in under three weeks.
There was much outcry when Futurama departed Netflix, but creator Matt Groening is bringing a new animated series featuring most of the Futurama cast to Netflix in August called Disenchantment. In the meantime, fans are still clamoring for new episodes of Futurama to be produced with all staff willing to take part along with the producers. Perhaps with this positive data, Hulu can take a chance on more episodes of Futurama to be produced.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
