REVIEW: CRASH and BERNSTEIN “Home Alone…With Crash”

Amanda is put in charge of the house and the kids, but Crash fools her into letting Wyatt take care of his younger sisters.

Spoilers Below

Mel’s gotta go to work so Amanda’s in charge and Wyatt has to make sure everything goes smooth if he wants to go on his snow boarding trip. Crash decides to convince Amanda to go to the arcade and put him in charge along with Wyatt which sounds like a good idea until Crash decides to use the toilet as a swimming pool and gets himself stuck. As luck would have it Mr. Poulous just happens to be by to check the A/C so he’s able to save Crash but he demands to see someone supervising over the age of 16. With Amanda stuck at the arcade tutoring a student she’s unable to come home at the moment which doesn’t bode well for the rest of its occupants of whom causes a big noise ruckus. Poulous decides to go nuts and try and call up Mel but its here we are introduced to Petey of whom is a 25-year old assumingly responsible adult that can also play the bagpipes like nobody’s business. Even thought he isn’t thoroughly convinced,  Poulous takes the bait on Petey but decides to install a wi fi camera so that this way no one will get out of line.

Thankfully, Wyatt is able to go to the arcade and bring back Amanda leaving the others to play hide and seek only to get Jasmine stuck in the vent. Turns out this was all Crash’s idea to get Jasmine stuck in the wall but he joins the others in concocting some sort of plan to try and save the girl! Unfortunately, Poulous has the only key that can open the vent which causes Crash to don a disguise in an effort to try and get it from him but fails miserably. Next, Wyatt flies Crash onto the second floor where Poulous is jamming out to some tunes on his headphones which would seem like a great chance in getting the keys needed to save Jasmine, but Crash umm crashes and now Poulous is PISSED! He storms into the Bernstein residence with Crash by the ear, but with Cleo’s quick thinking the kids are able to grab the key, unlock the vent, and save Jasmine. When Poulous comes to, he threatens to call Mel but after some pretty impressive black-mailing from Wyatt, the crazy landlord decides to go on his way.

Danny Woodburn is still to this day a very entertaining actor and he got to put a lot of his skills to work in tonight’s episode. He plays a great antagonist but you almost can never take him seriously because he is so boisterous and loud that you can’t help but laugh every time he gets angry. Also, I am really starting to LOVE the Cleo and Crash arguments, mainly because no matter WHAT Crash can think of in an attempt to get back at Cleo, she returns the favor and does a good job doing so. Unfortunately, this week had two GLARING issues that really bothered me. For one, we the viewer have been under the assumption that Amanda was the dumb blonde of the group(and rightfully so), so why the hell is she ANY kind of a math tutor?? Also, am I the only one who was bothered by Krystal’s resemblance to a Native-American?? Shaky territory for a Disney show folks, but the other issue I had was with Petey. I couldn’t locate who plays as him but boy was he awful. His acting was terrible and he really served little to no purpose in the episode making me hope next time that if he does come back, Petey ends up in the A/C vent as opposed to Jasmine.
