English Dub Review: Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. “Glad I Became a Magical Girl”

Overview

Amidst the raging war, Magilumiere and AST finally decide to “cooperate” as Shigemoto gives AST Corp. full access to the Alice System’s technology to combine both companies’ power for shared use among their Magical Girls. Meanwhile, Tsuchiba nearly loses control of her magic. For the sake of future generations, new relationships and moral values drive everyone involved to fight with their hearts.

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, We’ve reached the Season finale as Magilumiere and AST Corp. finally put aside their differences and join forces, with Shigemoto granting AST access to the Alice System so both companies can combine their magical abilities. As the two teams prepare to take on the Kaii, tensions run high, forcing everyone to rely on one another. It ultimately becomes a great showcase of teamwork and the strength that comes from working together.

The finale does a great job bringing everyone together while giving Tsuchiba some meaningful character development along the way. Kana’s ability to reach out to her adds another nice layer to their relationship, while seeing the various characters work together makes for a satisfying conclusion. The blend of magical-girl action, character development, and corporate workplace comedy remains one of the show’s biggest strengths, even if the action this season wasn’t quite as engaging as the first.

Overall, while I still prefer the first season, this was a solid follow-up that expanded the cast and continued developing its characters. The animation, music, and chemistry between everyone remain highlights, and I’m glad the season ended on a strong note. It’s a shame to see it end when there’s still plenty of story left to tell, but if another season happens, I’ll definitely be watching. Here’s hoping Magilumiere gets the chance to return for another round.
