Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, LINK CLICK continues its long-awaited return with an increasingly dark mystery surrounding Xia Fei’s disappearance. Episode 2 does a good job balancing the unsettling circumstances with Cheng Xiaoshi’s usual humor, which provides some much-needed levity without completely undermining the seriousness of the situation. The investigation also brings back several familiar faces while gradually expanding the mystery beyond what initially appears to be a simple missing-person case. By the time Episode 3 rolls around, the situation becomes considerably more intense, introducing new characters and abilities while putting Cheng Xiaoshi in another incredibly dangerous situation. Despite some of the darker material occasionally feeling a little excessive, the episodes certainly aren’t lacking in surprises.
What makes these two episodes particularly effective is how they continue building questions rather than rushing to answer them. Lu Guang’s increasingly emotional behavior and strange visions add another layer to the story, while Qiao Ling appears to be growing more suspicious that he isn’t telling them everything. At the same time, the new characters introduced in Episode 3 immediately leave an impression and create even more uncertainty about where the story is heading. There are also several moments that deliberately feel off, especially toward the end of Episode 3, making it difficult to know exactly who can be trusted or what certain characters are really planning. The result is a pair of episodes that feel packed with information without completely giving away their hand.
Overall, LINK CLICK delivers a strong one-two punch with Episodes 2 and 3, combining mystery, emotional drama, dark subject matter, and plenty of twists while continuing to expand its increasingly complicated story. Episode 2 lays the groundwork for the mystery, while Episode 3 significantly raises the stakes and leaves the pieces in a much more intriguing position. There are still plenty of questions left unanswered, but that’s exactly what makes these episodes so effective: you finish them wanting to immediately see what happens next. At this point, waiting a week between episodes feels less like a release schedule and more like psychological warfare.
