English Dub Review: Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War-The Calamity “God Of Thunder; “Son Of Darkness”

Overview:

Ichigo, Orihime and Chad head out to defeat Yhwach while Yoruichi clashes with Nakk Le Vaar.

The battle between Nakk Le Vaar, Yoruichi, and Urahara rages on. Ichigo and Orihime confront Yhwach.

Our Take(Spoilers):

You might remember that back in June I went to see the Bleach movie and was slightly disappointed by the fact that all it was is the beginning to this season. So if you were one of the people who went and saw that then I regret to inform you that there isn’t anything new here. Well I suppose that isn’t entirely true, we did get to hear the new opening and ending song. Those weren’t included in the theatrical release.

The opening is “I-BULL” by jo0ji and the ending song is “Rasen” by 9Lana. I haven’t quite nailed down whether I prefer the opening or ending yet. The opening is more hype I would say so far but both songs do a great job of fitting with all the other songs that Bleach has come to be known for. I don’t think anything will ever beat “Asterisk” by Orange Range. If you’ve never heard that one then I have a lot of questions for you. Why are you only watching this show now after twenty-two years, and in God’s name why would you start here?!

I’m kidding for the most part but if I’m being honest there isn’t too much more I can say that I didn’t already say in my other review. I think this is the better way to experience the first few episodes of the new season of Bleach instead of spending a bunch of money at a theater. Plus you can pause Hulu but you can’t pause a movie at a theater.
