Independent Studio Just Just Productions Announces Pilot Release and Kickstarter Campaign for 3D Animated Series ‘The Heir of Time’

Independent production house Just Just Productions has officially revealed that The Heir of Time, its upcoming original 3D-animated sci-fi fantasy series, will premiere its pilot episode on August 29, 2026. Simultaneously, the creative team will launch a Kickstarter campaign aimed at funding the ongoing production of the broader universe.

Created entirely outside the legacy Hollywood studio ecosystem, The Heir of Time brings together a team of independent animators, writers, actors, and filmmakers—including veterans whose credits include work with Sony, Netflix, and Snapshot. The project fuses high fantasy, space opera, political maneuvering, and military science fiction to establish an expansive original world.

An Interstellar Powder Keg

Set across a galaxy teetering on the edge of open warfare, the story centers on Sel, an elven princess cursed with a volatile, ancient magic that distorts her perception of time. As galactic powers jockey for dominance, Sel must master her dangerous gift while navigating the lethal political landscape surrounding her fractured monarchy.

Expanding the Franchise Beyond the Screen

The August 29 Kickstarter campaign will offer fans a chance to directly fund future episodes and influence the scope of the project’s development.

Alongside the pilot episode, Just Just Productions is preparing a multi-platform release strategy to expand the world of The Heir of Time. The studio plans to release an upcoming behind-the-scenes documentary highlighting the indie animation process, as well as a standalone, actual-play D&D one-shot campaign streaming soon on YouTube.
