‘Big City Greens’ Returns for Star-Studded 5th Season This Month on Disney Channel & Disney+

The Green family is officially back for more rural-meets-urban hijinks. Disney has released the official trailer and key art for Big City Greens Season 5, setting a premiere date of Friday, August 21, 2026 on Disney Channel (8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT), with episodes available to stream the following day on Disney+.

The Emmy Award-winning series, created and executive produced by brothers Chris and Shane Houghton, kicks off its milestone fifth season with a five-episode binge drop, followed by additional rollouts stretching through the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.

A Wild Guest Star Roster: Stephen King, Luke Combs, Kevin Smith & More

Season 5 is pulling out all the stops with one of the most unexpected, star-studded guest rosters in recent Disney Animation history. Among the highlighted guest appearances:

  • Stephen King starring in a special Halloween-themed episode.

  • Megan Stalter (Hacks) starring in a dedicated winter-themed episode.

  • Country star Luke Combs, Dylan Sprouse, Chad Michael Murray, and the iconic comedy duo Kevin Smith & Jason Mewes.

  • MCU alumni Cobie Smulders and Clark Gregg (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), alongside Mike Colter (Luke Cage).

  • Podcast fan-favorites Matt Gourley, Sona Movsesian, and Aaron Bleyaert (Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend), plus Martha Kelly (Euphoria) and Steve Schirripa (The Sopranos).

These newcomers join returning fan-favorite recurring voices, including Danny Trejo (Vasquez), Alfred Molina (Cogburn), Jameela Jamil (Phoenix), Colin Hanks (Mark), and Dan Stevens (Saxon).

A Major Milestone for Disney Television Animation

With Season 5, Big City Greens cements its status as one of Disney Television Animation’s flagship properties. It stands as the longest continuously running series in the studio’s current lineup and one of only a handful of Disney Channel animated shows to ever reach a fifth season.

Following the success of 2024’s Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation, movie director Anna O’Brian has been elevated to executive producer alongside the Houghton brothers for Season 5, with Stephen Sandoval (The Owl House) serving as co-executive producer and Michael Coughlin (The Muppets) producing.

The main voice cast—including Chris Houghton (Cricket), Marieve Herington (Tilly), Bob Joles (Bill), Artemis Pebdani (Gramma Alice), Wendi McLendon-Covey (Nancy), Zeno Robinson (Remy), and Anna Akana (Gloria)—all return for the 30-episode, 58-segment order.
