English Dub Review: Sparks Of Tomorrow “Their Dream”

Sparks of Tomorrow recently debuted its latest episode, “The Dream,” which shows a contrast between the mundane and fantastic, as the catalog takes a journey of its own of sorts.
Our Take:
Last episode already drew viewers in with a study of hope and failure, and it was just the second episode. The next episode dives right into the action. Mizoe wants the catalog for himself, believing it contains untold secrets, causing him to corner Kihachi and Inako.
Inako remains firm as Kihachi buys them some time with a bright, electrical flash. Unfortunately, Yosuke’s forces manage to subdue the two, knocking them unconscious. This leaves him with both Inako and the mysterious journal.
Kihachi’s attempts to reach them don’t go as expected, but things take an even bigger turn when the catalog gets lost into the canal. Fortunately for Inako, Noriko and Kengo see what happens, with the latter diving in to save it. Ultimately, the whole sequence leaves fans wondering just what everyone wants in this story, not to mention what the catalog contains hidden within.
Meanwhile, Kihachi still has to work, since one cannot even escape the daily grind in the world of steampunk anime. Of course, the work provides a contrast to the issues at hand. The mundane seems manageable while the search for the catalog won’t come with an easy solution. However, it will soon be his time to prove himself if he can free Inako from captivity.
The story really focuses on Kihachi’s journey through it all, with him also getting time to muse on the loss of his brother. However, things aren’t going to be too easy for him this early in the story. He might be able to help Inako, but the forces pursuing them will soon prove to be closer than they think. Overall, the story take time to give viewers moments to think amid all the action.
However, the big draw is a look at what is truly hidden within the mysterious journal. In spite of it all the conflict, without giving too much away, one figure won’t be too happy to see what’s really inside.
