‘Bob’s Burgers’ Unveils Special Holiday Short ‘On the Fort Day of Christmas’ Coming to Hulu

The Belcher family is getting an extra dose of holiday cheer later this year. During the Bob’s Burgers panel in Ballroom 20 at San Diego Comic-Con, series creator and executive producer Loren Bouchard announced that the Emmy-winning animated comedy will release an exclusive holiday short titled On the Fort Day of Christmas.

The standalone special will premiere later this year exclusively on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ internationally in most markets.

A Record-Breaking Snowstorm Hits Seymour’s Bay

In On the Fort Day of Christmas, a record-breaking Christmas snowstorm paralyzes the town, but for Tina, Gene, and Louise, the blizzard presents an unprecedented opportunity: taking on a mission to construct a record-breaking snow fort.

Bouchard was joined on stage for the SDCC announcement by supervising director Bernard Derriman alongside core voice cast members H. Jon Benjamin (Bob), John Roberts (Linda), Kristen Schaal (Louise), Eugene Mirman (Gene), and Dan Mintz (Tina).

A first-look image shared during the panel revealed the family gathered on the living room couch unwrapping gifts, with Louise holding a unwrapped box titled “The Fort.”

Looking Ahead to Season 17 and Beyond

While fans won’t have to wait until next year for new Belcher antics thanks to the upcoming holiday short, the broadcast series will return for Season 17 on FOX in 2027, streaming next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.

The hit animated series, produced by 20th Television Animation, continues to be a cornerstone of adult animation. FOX has already granted multi-season renewals securing the show through its 19th season (2028–2029).
