English Dub Review: Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun ” Suzuki Iruma’s Exorcibration”

Overview

Iruma-kun celebrates his birthday for the first time in the netherworld.

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun slows things down for a heartfelt celebration centered on Iruma. Before the festivities, Balam shares the childhood story behind the scar on his face, teaching Iruma that respecting life also means valuing his own. When everyone realizes they completely missed Iruma’s birthday, they quickly organize a traditional demon birthday celebration, complete with heartfelt gifts, unique customs, and an emotional ceremony that leaves Iruma overwhelmed by the kindness of the people who’ve become his family.

Balam continues to be one of the series’ best mentors, and his bond with Iruma feels incredibly genuine. His lesson about cherishing life ties beautifully into the birthday celebration, making the entire episode surprisingly touching. Watching Iruma experience genuine love and appreciation after never having a proper birthday before was easily the emotional highlight, while the cast’s quirky personalities, demon traditions, and plenty of hilarious moments kept the episode fun from start to finish. It’s also great to see how much every classmate has grown and how close they’ve all become.

Overall, this was another wonderfully wholesome episode that perfectly captures why Iruma-kun is so easy to love. Its mix of heartfelt emotion, comedy, charming character interactions, and warm atmosphere made the episode fly by, while celebrating the friendships that make the series so special. A simple but incredibly satisfying episode that leaves you smiling from beginning to end.
