English Dub Review: The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen “The Cruel Queen and the Truth”
Overview:
Pride will not suffer a conspiracy aimed at Prince Leon.
Our Take:
Whenever we see glimpses into the alternate universe where Pride was evil, I can’t believe some of the awful things she did. After Prince Leon gets drunk in a pub, the evil Pride hangs up all the people he drank with and whips them. When asked whose fault it was, she threatened the prince with war if it was his, and would execute his friends if it was theirs. This led to the prince having to execute his friends with his own hand. Evil Pride is truly evil, and I look forward to seeing her use that “wickedness” for good.
One thing that separates this from other villainess shows is how the heroine is used. The heroine in this case is supposed to be Pride’s sister, Tiara. She’s hardly in this story, and I haven’t decided yet if I like that turn of events or not. It’s also rare for the heroine to be a family member of the villainess. The villainess is usually an asshole to the heroine, but with it being family, you would think that wouldn’t be the case.
Either way, I love how Pride comforts Leon. I don’t know who Pride is going to end up with, but I have a feeling it won’t be Leon. Unlike most harem shows, I don’t have a preference yet either. She clearly cares about Leon and his people, and I think she’s going to show off her evil side in his defense.
