English Dub Review: The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen “The Audacious Queen and Alcohol”

Overview:

Roles and priorities may change, but that doesn’t mean bonds disappear.

Our Take:

As someone who is a fan of Arthur’s character, I have to say that I needed this episode. It seems that with the most recent arc coming to an end, we’re getting some focus on the characters that were on the back burner. Last episode, we got some time with Stale, and now we have to spend time with Arthur.

I think I’m back on Team Arthur when it comes to who I want Pride to end up with. They had a couple of very cute scenes together. One where he came to her room at night, and they held hands through a crack in her door. Later, Pride cooks for everyone and feeds Arthur some of her homemade melon bread.

With Stale going away to learn to be Prince Regent, I could see Arthur getting a lot more screentime. It was also interesting to see Prince Leon invite Val to have snacks with him so they could talk to each other more. Leon seems to think that Val has feelings for Pride, and I’m pretty confident that puts the nail in the coffin. Of course, he does! It wouldn’t be a reverse harem villainess show if everyone wasn’t in love with the main character!

Speaking of Val, I find it interesting that the two kids he has with him have essentially been mute every time they appear this season. I believe the girl who’s with him has said a few words, but for the most part, we haven’t heard from them, and I don’t know why it feels weird.

There is apparently another male suitor who is yet to be introduced. We also saw a character on a couch out in the wilderness that was up to something weird. For the most part, the fantastical side of things has been in check. Val has a form of earth magic, but that’s been the main thing I can think of. If we had a creepy, magical villain, maybe that would make things a little more interesting.

The final character we’re about to be introduced to intrigues me a fair bit. He doesn’t seem quite as refined as the other characters. I’m not sure if he’s also going to be a prince, but it seems that he will for sure have a “wild” side.
