English Dub Review: Daemons of the Shadow Realm “Long-Arm and Long-Leg”
Overview
While shopping in the city, Yuru and Dera sense that they’re being followed.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, Yuru and Dera find themselves hunted by a dangerous pair of ancient Daemons, leading to an action-heavy confrontation that puts both their combat skills and ingenuity to the test. As the battle escalates, more details emerge about the history of these powerful foes and their connection to the mysterious Seal ability. While Right and Left take the lead in combat, Yuru and Dera rely on quick thinking, deception, and teamwork to gain the upper hand against an enemy that greatly outmatches them in raw power.
The rest of the proceedings are very action-heavy, but I mean it in a good way. The use of tactics over simple power-ups, particularly Yuru’s ability to exploit his opponents’ fears and Dera’s effective use of modern weaponry against supernatural threats, is easily the highlight. Although the battle itself could have been tighter or more visually ambitious, the emphasis on practical combat, character intelligence, and consistent production quality is where this episode shines the most.
Overall, this was an entertaining and action-packed episode that balanced suspense, strategy, and worldbuilding while continuing to develop the mystery surrounding Yuru and the forces pursuing him. The battle provides satisfying character moments and reveals new pieces of the larger conflict, while also leaving several questions unanswered. By the end, the immediate threat may be dealt with, but the story makes it clear that even greater dangers are still lurking in the shadows.
