English Dub Review: An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess “An Observation Log of a Self-Proclaimed Villainess and the Royal Family.”

Overview:

At last, Cecil and Bertia commit themselves to each other in the truest sense, but the problem of how to deal with Heronia remains. To keep his promise to Pii-chan, Cecil confronts Heronia.

Our Take(Spoilers):

I never thought I would feel bad for Heronia. But seeing Prince Cecil bluntly tell her what her actions have wrought was tough to watch. Don’t get me wrong, she deserved it, and I’m glad Cecil said what he said, but the saddest part was that she hadn’t yet realized that Pii-chan was gone for good. When she realized what had happened, she made a decision that earned her some respect from me.

For her punishment, Cecil gave her a choice. She was going to a convent, and she was told she could go to the northern one, which is cold and unforgiving, or she could go to the southern one, which is a more temperate climate. Easy choice, right? You would think so, but Cecil lets Heronia know that if she goes north and prays hard up there, a miracle might be possible. She decides to go there and try to get Pii-chan back. That was an admirable choice she made, and if this show gets a continuation, I look forward to seeing how that goes.

It looks like we’re going to get a wedding, and honestly, that’s a first for me in a rom-com like this. It’s not the first time a couple has gotten married in a show I’ve watched, but usually they show a photo of the couple’s wedding, and that’s it.

I guess I shouldn’t count my eggs before they hatch because we haven’t seen the wedding yet, and if the ending of this episode was anything to go by, then it looks like someone will try to put a stop to it. I have no idea who this character is, but they don’t want the wedding to happen. If I had to guess, I would say that they’re a relative of Bertia and don’t want her to get married or something.

We also got a backstory about Cecil’s family. It started with someone called the Hero King, and he didn’t show much emotion like Cecil. Apparently, it’s a family trait that comes up every so often, and Cecil’s father was worried about his son. The Hero King had a maiden of destiny to set him straight, just like Cecil has Bertia.
