English Dub Review: Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun “Lilith’s Carpet”
Overview
Despite not knowing if their classmate Soi Purson will be part of the concert or not, Iruma and the rest of the Misfit Class perform their rendition of “Lilith’s Carpet.”
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, the current season’s Arc has finally delivered one of the most ambitious and emotionally rewarding episodes the series has ever produced. The long-awaited performance by the Misfit Class completely takes center stage, and the payoff feels earned after weeks of buildup. What makes the performance stand out so much is how authentic it feels, despite the polished choreography, music, and visuals; it still carries the charm of a genuine school production, complete with small imperfections and uneven transitions that only make the unity and passion of the class feel even more real.
The episode mostly shines through its incredible presentation, with fluid animation, expressive choreography, powerful musical sequences, and a surprising amount of cinematic direction. Nearly every member of the class gets a memorable moment to contribute, allowing the performance to feel like a celebration of how far they have all come together. The emotional core lands especially well thanks to the focus on teamwork, confidence, and finally seeing everyone perform as one complete group. Rather than constantly interrupting the show with commentary or exposition, the anime lets the performance breathe naturally, which makes the immersion hit even harder.
Overall, this was easily one of the standout episodes of the entire series and arguably one of the strongest anime performance episodes in recent memory. The combination of music, character work, animation quality, and emotional payoff created something that felt genuinely special from start to finish. What could have easily come across as overly goofy or exaggerated instead turned into a heartfelt and unforgettable showcase of passion, trust, and individuality. The Misfit Class has always been chaotic and eccentric, but this episode perfectly reminded viewers why their bond works so well together.
