English Dub Review: Isekai Office Worker: The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter “I Punished Them”
Overview
Kondou gets assaulted by three knights. It’s the perfect chance to punish them and get some compensation.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, the story continues leaning heavily into its mix of workplace fantasy drama and awkward emotional intimacy, with Seiichirou recovering from a brutal assault while Aresh stays constantly by his side to keep his condition stable. The episode focuses less on action and more on the growing emotional dependence between the two, with the healing scenes framed in a noticeably softer and more caring way than before. Their interactions gradually feel less transactional and more personal, especially as Aresh’s protective side becomes increasingly obvious and Seiichirou slowly grows more comfortable relying on him.
The aftermath of the attack also pushes the political and financial side of the story back into focus, as the knights responsible face punishment that feels practical rather than overly dramatic. Seiichirou’s reactions throughout the episode continue reinforcing how grounded his mindset is compared to everyone around him, even when he gets dragged into expensive royal celebrations and endless noble nonsense. At the same time, the series still leaves some uncertainty around the romance itself, since much of the intimacy is tied directly to the world’s magical healing system, making the emotional progression feel intentionally slow and somewhat uneven.
Overall, the episode works best as a quieter character-focused installment that prioritizes emotional closeness, recovery, and relationship progression over major plot movement. While the magical healing mechanics and romantic development may still feel unconventional or one-sided at times, the softer atmosphere and growing attachment between Seiichirou and Aresh give the story a more sincere emotional core beneath all the fantasy workplace chaos.
