English Dub Review: You and I Are Polar Opposites “Step by Step”
Overview:
As the seasons change. Yamada and Nishi become more open with each other, and the negative aura around Azuma and Taira continues to soften. Suzuki and Tani go on a date in Yokohama, and the chance for their first kiss finally arrives, but…
Our Take:
My question was answered; that “kiss” we saw a while back was apparently a cheek peck. Knowing that, now I really don’t understand why they didn’t show the kiss. That’s the one thing that a lot of rom-coms do that really annoys me. This show has done a lot of things right, so I’ll give it a pass, but it would have been nice to know.
One thing we do know that’s fantastic is that Yamada and Nishi went on their first date. It went really well, and the only issue that came up was that near the end, they ran into Suzuki and Tani. This led to us almost getting a whole new episode. We then saw things from Suzuki and Tani’s POV I love it when shows do this. It’s cool getting different perspectives on things, and it’s funny seeing these kids so scared of running into anyone they know when they’re out on a date. I’m glad we don’t have to wait long to see more of these characters.
