English Dub Review: The Villainess Is Adored by the Prince of the Neighbor Kingdom “Whisper That You Love Me”
Overview
Icilla tries to find out why the Sea Fairy King Pearl hates Tiararose… and faces a temptation she never expected.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, the story shifts toward the fairy realm as new dynamics emerge through the Sky King’s growing interest in Tiararose and her unique magic. What begins as a light and whimsical explanation for her charm quickly turns tense with the arrival of the Sea Fairy Woman King, whose personality can best be described as a petty mean girl on steroids. Her hostility injects immediate conflict into an otherwise peaceful setting, as misunderstandings and emotional reactions spiral. Jealousy and insecurity begin to dominate the interactions, pushing relationships into increasingly unstable territory.
The rest of the proceedings leans heavily into interpersonal drama, though not always effectively. Character motivations feel exaggerated, with conflicts escalating quickly and sometimes without enough buildup to feel natural. Several characters act impulsively, making decisions that strain credibility and create frustration rather than tension. While the core themes of love, trust, and emotional growth are still present, the reliance on convenient plot devices weakens their impact. As a result, the episode feels more chaotic than compelling, even as it tries to raise the stakes.
Overall, this episode acts as a drama-heavy turning point that prioritizes conflict over cohesion. It pushes characters into difficult situations but leans too much on forced misunderstandings to get there. With the story nearing its conclusion, there’s still potential for these tensions to resolve in a meaningful way, though it will depend on whether the narrative can move past contrived setups and deliver a more satisfying payoff.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
