Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, this installment balances the aftermath of a major fight with growing tension across multiple fronts. The battle against Tao Fa and Ju Fa reaches its conclusion through the combined efforts of Gantetsusai, Fuchi, Chobe, and Toma, highlighting the contrast in how each character approaches conflict and their opponents’ final moments. Gantetsusai, in particular, stands out with both his decisive action and unexpected sense of respect. Meanwhile, Sagiri and Mei shift the focus toward a more urgent objective, realizing that stopping the threat from reaching the mainland is just as important as surviving the island itself.

At the same time, the episode leans heavily into worldbuilding through Sagiri’s interaction with Gui Fa, who proves to be more composed yet no less dangerous. Their exchange reveals the broader implications of Rien’s plan, raising the stakes far beyond the immediate battles. Elsewhere, Shion and Nurugai continue their brutal struggle, with Shion pushing himself to the limit against an opponent that refuses to stay down. These parallel threads create a sense of escalating pressure, as each group faces a different aspect of the same overwhelming threat.

Overall, this episode prioritizes emotional weight and narrative progression over spectacle, delivering a strong mix of character moments and looming danger. The resolution of one conflict is balanced by the expansion of a much larger one, with Rien’s plan casting a shadow over everything. While some pacing choices may feel quick, the episode succeeds in building anticipation, leaving Sagiri, Shion, and the others in increasingly dire situations as the story moves toward its next turning point.
