English Dub Review: Gnosia “Interlude; 15-Person Meeting”
OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)
Yuri decides to take a day off with Setsu and just relax during one of the world lines. Later, Yuri meets with Yuriko, who discusses another complication to worry about: AC Followers, those who are human but wish to assist the Gnosia.
OUR TAKE
Wow, after another weird delay of episodes, Gnosia returns with two more! And yes, that’s right, we’re adding another thing to keep track of in future meetings. We’ve had engineers, doctors, guardian angels, and guard duty, but now we have AC (anti-cosmic) Followers, who seem to be the equivalent of the “Leopards ate my face” Party, though it’s a bit unclear if they know that they’ll be killed next or just assimilated. I suppose it does add a wrinkle that wasn’t there before, as previously it was just assumed that humans were automatically on the side of other humans, whereas now there are some that will deliberately sabotage human efforts, even at the cost of their own lives. I’m sure that’s going to be as much of a wild card as any going forward, especially if AC Followers can get the jobs that help them identify or protect Gnosia like Engineer, Doctor, or Guardian Angel, or even just claiming someone is an AC Follower to through people off, but we’ve still got at least ten more episodes to go for all of that to happen. Putting that aside, I’m just surprised Yuriko is actually being genuinely helpful for once as opposed to just being cryptic and snide.
And it’s also important that we discuss the importance of the episode preceding it. Even if it’s only the first half, it’s nice to see Yuri and Setsu, the only ones who are truly experiencing loop after loop, getting a chance to simply take a breather for a bit. I mean technically it’s only for the equivalent of a day or two, but by this point, both of them have been going through this for at LEAST the equivalent of a few months, probably more in Setsu’s case. They’re both trapped in this with the same weird parasitic alien, the Silver Key, and even if other passengers are able to easily believe and comprehend their situation, the memories of those passengers reset every time, so they only ever have each other to relate to. And that’s without throwing in the times when one of them is the Gnosia. Honestly, a timeline where they’re both the Gnosia and just get to slaughter everyone would probably be a great stress relief. Anyway, this episode actually ends while mid loop, which is pretty rare, so we’ll have to come back next week (assume the episodes come out on time) to find out how this one ends and what new things we can learn.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
