The Monsters Are Coming to YouTube: James Gunn’s ‘Creature Commandos’ to Stream for Free
If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to dive into the new DC Universe (DCU), James Gunn and Peter Safran are handing you the perfect opportunity on a silver platter.
To celebrate the first anniversary of the show that kicked off DC’s Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters, DC has announced that Creature Commandos will be available to stream for free on YouTube for a very limited time.
A First Anniversary Celebration
Creature Commandos originally debuted on Max on December 5, 2024. Now, one year later, the series is being used as a gateway for fans who may have recently flocked to theaters for James Gunn’s Superman and are looking for more “Gunn-verse” content.
DC will host a special marathon of all seven episodes on their official YouTube channel. The event is scheduled across two days:
-
December 22: 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM ET
-
December 23: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM ET
This free-to-watch event is a strategic move to keep the momentum of the DCU high during the holiday season, especially as the franchise prepares for its 2026 slated second season.
Synopsis:
CREATURE COMMANDOS tracks a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails… they’re your last, worst option. CREATURE COMMANDOS is written and executive produced by James Gunn. Based on DC characters and produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation; additional executive producers include Peter Safran, Dean Lorey, and Sam Register; Rick Morales serves as a supervising producer.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
