Overview:
A human may become a vampire only if they fall in love with one, and 14-year-old Kou Yamori wishes for nothing more. Kou has decided to fall in love with a vampire named Nazuna Nanakusa, and he has only 10 months of nightly rendezvous left to realize his goal.
Our Take(Spoilers):
This show was one of my favorites when the first season aired. Its focus on how important the night can be was something that resonated with me. Not only that, but the views of the night sky that get shown are absolutely stunning.
Our two leads, Kou and Nazuna, are voiced by Gabriel Regojo and Natalie Rial, respectively. Gabriel is a newer VA, I believe, but he’s been getting a lot of work with Sentai Productions. He does a great job as Kou. Natalie isn’t new, but she’s been popping up with more leads lately, I feel. I would say this is my favorite role of hers, followed closely by her role as Rui Tachibana in Domestic Girlfriend. There’s a lot of amazing voice talent in this show, and I wanted to shout out two of the people who I felt really put in the work. I would also like to shout out Jessica Calvello, who plays the detective Anko. She played a HUGE role this season, so she got a lot of run as well.
I love a good twist as much as the next guy, and finding out that Anko was Nazuna’s first friend was a fun one. Her father got turned into a vampire and killed her mother, so I understand why she hates vampires so much. I thought that dealing with Anko was going to be an endgame issue for this series, but we got it wrapped up in the second season. My only issue with this season was that it ended, and that there isn’t a sign of a continuation. As far as negatives go, I’d say that’s a pretty good one.
