OUR TAKE
What’s that smell I smell? Why, it seems to be the strong fragrance of PLOT DEVELOPMENT! Specifically, it seems there is some progress in the Forgers in getting closer to the Desmond Family, in this case Damian’s mother and wife of Donovan, Melinda. Compared to Loid, who is a master of subterfuge and deception, Yor is much more genuine and likes to help people when she can. Though compared to Anya, who will say whatever is on her mind and start fights over small things, Yor is pretty subtle. So with all of that in mind, it makes sense that her being able to not only save Melinda from a potential accident but also be nice and cordial would catch her eye and invite her to their friend group. Of course, Yor is completely oblivious to Loid needing to get closer to the Desmond family for his mission, so once he learns of this, he ardently encourages her keep this friend group, though under the guise that she should really have friends of her own and not just have her life confined to being Loid’s fake wife and Anya’s fake mother. It’s a rare time that the fakeness of their relationship is really acknowledged, which makes me wonder if something will come along soon to exacerbate that.
But then there’s Anya, who can read minds but takes what she hears in weird directions, so once she hears that Loid plans to use Yor as a back up in case Anya fails to get close to Damian, she starts seeing this as a competition of sorts, and so rededicates herself to getting close to Damian for both the sake of the mission…and to avoid getting abandoned, though I think she’s safe in that regard. And naturally, even with this newfound sense of determination, she still ends up getting ticked off at Damian’s bratty behavior and picks another fight with him, so it seems like that whole thing is going to take a bit of work either way. Still, now all of the Forgers have some sort of in with one of the Desmonds, and ironically Loid, the one who put this all together, actually is the least involved and doesn’t really have a relationship with Donovan, but maybe that will change now that his family is closer to them. Either way, looks like next time is yet another Loid focus episode, so that should be fun.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
