English Dub Review: A Misanthrope Teaches a Class for Demi-Humans “The Misanthrope and the Nigh Past”
Overview:
The new assistant homeroom teacher for the advanced class turns out to be a familiar face from Rei’s past.
Our Take:
Well umm… that could have been worse I guess. Mirai Haruna was a student that Rei taught. Her actions more or less led to what made him quit his job. She was getting bullied and spent a lot of time in his office and when he decided to stick up for her things went horribly for him. The person who was bullying Haruna was the daughter of a powerful person so when Rei brought the accusations forward I wasn’t surprised that it got flipped on him. Since Haruna and him spent a lot of time together it was rumored that they were romantically involved.
The biggest betrayal in the situation was when Haruna herself lied and said that Rei was beating her. She even said that it was his idea to accuse the other girl of bullying. You would think that if a person who did that you became a coworker you had to work closely with you’d be upset. Well, if Rei is upset he isn’t showing it. In fact, he apologized to her and she apologized to him and that seems to be it. I’m not saying that apologies shouldn’t have happened or weren’t needed but I think I’d need a little more time to deal with it. All of this and Isaki is no longer in class, this is rough. There’s a few new students they seem like a handful.
