English Dub Review: Call of the Night “5th Night: The few years I spent with you…”
Overview:
Kabura thought she’d be with Haru forever. But life never goes according to plan, even for vampires. Now Kabura is left with a burden she never asked for.
Our Take(Spoilers):
So, we have some more vampire lore that’s unique to this series. Vampire women can get pregnant, and with a human partner no less. Much to the dismay of Kabura, who is clearly in love with Haru. For some reason, Haru had to leave town and tasked Kabura with taking care of her daughter, Nazuna. Another weird wrinkle is that they didn’t show how much time had passed, but Nazuna was already an adult. This revelation made Kou happy because it meant that Nazuna was born a vampire and thus had never fallen in love before. He was also happy that this meant she didn’t have the same weakness that other vampires would.
For all intents and purposes, this put Kabura in a motherly sort of role for Nazuna. Which makes her pseudo crush on her a little more odd. I get it, she looks exactly like the woman she was in love with but it’s still a little… ick for me. There seems to be something going on with Kyouko and Kou wonders what would make her hate vampires so much, and I have to admit that I’m intrigued too.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
