Hulu Unveils New Original Anime Series Cat’s Eye, A Modern Take on an ’80s Classic
Hulu is bringing a beloved ’80s classic back to life with its new original anime series, Cat’s Eye. The 12-part series is a new adaptation of Tsukasa Hojo’s best-selling manga and will premiere on Hulu on September 26.
The show will be available to stream on both Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. This new production from Liden Films aims to honor the original manga and the iconic 1980s anime series produced by TMS, while also reimagining the story for a new generation of viewers.
The series follows the three Kisugi sisters—Hitomi, Rui, and Ai—who lead a double life. By day, they run a small, unassuming establishment called the Cat’s Eye Café. By night, they transform into a notorious group of high-stakes art thieves, known as “Cat’s Eye,” in a quest to recover their long-lost father’s artwork. The plot thickens as one of the sisters, Hitomi, is in a relationship with Toshio, a detective who is dedicated to catching the elusive thieves. The series chronicles their thrilling heists and the suspenseful, cat-and-mouse game between Hitomi and her partner.
The series has an English dubbed adaptation that will be made available for the premiere.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
