English Dub Review: I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability “The Great Advent Festival”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Lloyd’s group organizes to protect the bishops during the Advent festival.

Our Take:
With the mysterious pastor’s plan unfolded, Lloyd and his group are now taking the fight to the church’s Advent festival as they strive to protect the bishops from their villainous foe.  Of course, knowing Lloyd, it is also another opportunity for him to test his newfound divine sorcery on a formidable opponent.  Although he doesn’t make his appearance until the final ten or so minutes, the episode managed to make the plot involving the supporting characters interesting enough to bypass a couple of sluggish moments.  This is due to them discovering that the mysterious pastor has been disguising himself as one of the bishops, along with a brief backstory that further explores his rise as a corrupt priest.  Of course, we also recognize that one of the other bishops, Anastasia, is working for the mysterious pastor in the previous episodes, so the twist here isn’t as effective as the pastor’s reveal.
Unsurprisingly, once Lloyd arrives to save the day, “The Great Advent Festival” treats us to another OP moment involving Lloyd knocking the stuffing out of the pastor.  Luckily, I’ve grown somewhat accustomed to Lloyd’s overpowered capabilities, which have allowed me to fully witness his bad-ass aura. This has made the show a bit more tolerable compared to the first season, thanks to its menacing antagonist.  It also helps that I ignored the questionable character design for Lloyd that has plagued my interest in its first season.  The anticipation towards this battle has been heavily teased since their first encounter many episodes ago, and so far, the episode’s conclusion shows a clear sign that fans would be in for a treat.  That is, if the pastor can withstand Lloyd’s powerful spells long enough to actually pose as a threat to him.
