English Dub Review: Ascendance of a Bookworm: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke “Concert Preparations”

Overview

Rosemyne puts all her efforts into preparing for the harpsichord concert.

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, the story takes a quieter approach by focusing on preparations for the upcoming concert and the continued development of Rozemyne’s printing projects. The rivalry between Johann and Zack over creating better tools added some fun energy, while also highlighting how much Rozemyne’s inventions continue to inspire the people around her. Despite the slower pace, the episode felt well-balanced and gave several side characters meaningful moments to shine.

The emotional core of the episode came from Rozemyne reuniting with Tuuli. Even though their relationship has changed because of the noble society, their conversation still carried a lot of warmth and bittersweet emotion. Seeing Tuuli officially work alongside Rozemyne while trying to maintain proper noble etiquette was touching, and it really emphasized how difficult it is for Rozemyne to stay separated from the family she still deeply cares about. The return of familiar faces like Delia and Dirk also added a comforting sense of continuity.

Overall, this was a calm but heartfelt episode that balanced world-building, character interactions, and emotional moments very well. The concert preparations, Ferdinand’s unintentionally overwhelming charm, and the ongoing printing developments all helped keep things engaging without relying on major action. While mostly transitional, the episode succeeded by letting its quieter moments breathe and reminding viewers why the relationships in the series remain so impactful.
