English Dub Review: I Want to End this Love Game “My Childhood Friend Comes In The Morning”
Overview:
Yukiya argues with his little sister, and Miku suggests they go out shopping.
Our Take:
The reason the premise for this show annoys me so much is that I know that Yukiya and Miku are gonna be upset. They’re going to be upset that they wasted so much time on this “love game” of theirs when they could have spent that time being happy together. Life is short, and they’re going to look back on this wishing they had stopped playing games and spent that time being happy together instead. That’s assuming that this goes the traditional way, with them getting together and being happy for the rest of their lives. I still don’t understand why the lead-up to a couple getting together seems like the favorite part for writers. Maybe when they realize that they both “win” when this game ends, it will finish, but not before then, I don’t think.
The part of this episode I enjoyed was seeing Yukiya’s relationship with his sister, Wakana. When she stays out past her curfew, Yukiya gets angry with her and needs to talk to Miku for advice. This is the part of the show that I love. They might act weird when it comes to their love game, but they clearly respect each other. When one gives the other advice, they take it to heart, and I like that.
