iHeartMedia Debuts Animated Series Adaptation of War of the Roses
iHeartMedia has debuted a new animated series, War of the Roses, based on the popular radio show franchise. The series, which premiered on July 24, brings real radio episodes to life through a stylized and edgy animation.
Hosted by show creator Sean “Hollywood” Hamilton and his co-host Marie, the series transforms true stories of cheating and betrayal into short-form visual episodes. It is a partnership between Woody Productions and ABoot Studios, with ABoot Studios also working with students and recent graduates from Canadore College on the production.
War of the Roses is also the first animated series to feature a spatial audio mix, powered by Eclipsa Audio, Google’s open-source spatial platform. This technology, developed in collaboration with Vaudeville, delivers 360-degree soundscapes optimized for headphones and other smart devices. The soundtrack for the series includes a mix of indie artists and globally recognized names such as Sophie Powers, Peter DiStefano (Porno for Pyros), and Dave Krusen (Pearl Jam).

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
