English Dub Review: Secrets of the Silent Witch “The Adventure of the Silent Witch”
Overview
It’s the weekend and Monica is freed from her duty, so she decides to go to the city of Craeme with Nero.
Our Take
This time around, Monica continues to quietly impress from the shadows, navigating new situations with a blend of intelligence, subtle magic, and nervous charm. This episode highlights her increasing comfort in unfamiliar territory, whether it’s choosing electives outside her usual strengths or engaging with a more socially dynamic cast of characters. Despite the challenges, her ability to think strategically and adapt on the fly remains one of her most compelling traits.
There’s a lot of humor and heart woven into the episode, especially as Monica finds herself in more social settings. The pacing allows for plenty of quiet, meaningful moments. Whether it’s her reactions to high-energy classmates, navigating awkward encounters, or slowly letting others into her world. These scenes show that personal growth doesn’t always come with fanfare; sometimes it’s in the little interactions, small conversations, or simply trying something new.
Overall, this episode was a cozy and heartwarming continuation of Monica’s quiet transformation, blending humor, emotion, and character-driven storytelling with just enough lighthearted antics like chess blunders, wagon mishaps, and magical misunderstandings to keep things lively. Her gradual shift from a reclusive prodigy to someone forging genuine bonds is portrayed with gentle charm and thoughtful pacing. Rather than relying on spectacle, the show lets Monica breathe, learn, and grow, reminding us that even the most powerful heroes still have much to discover.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
