Review: Krapopolis “Ty Died”
Overview
Ty is tired of his family thinking he’s not important enough to be assassinated. He’ll show them!
Our Take
Ty shows them by putting together a fake assassination attempt that actually goes awry because our king dies and literally has to make a deal with the devil (in this case Hades) to come back to life. The rest of the family minus Deliria take part in an investigation that uncovers the plot and putting Ty through some sort of shame ritual that must have been too extreme for FOX because director Frank Marino had to cut out most of the shot which is going to be some points against a network that is supposed to be caring less and less about this sort of shit.
One FOX reunion I was thrilled to see was that of Vince Gilligan as the Prospector of who I guess is this show’s equivalent to Rick and Morty’s Mr. Poopybutthole in that he wraps the season doing a novel activity and summarizing the hilarious hijinks that just happened…did I mention that this was all done by VINCE FUCKING GILLIGAN?? Like Vince “X-Files, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul” Gilligan? How this show continues to take on the guest voice talent it gets is beyond me because it’s one of the more talented and name-droppy list of guest stars I think I’ve ever seen.
More on the show as a whole in my season review next week, in the meantime this week’s episode featured a novel premise of an idea by way of writer Andy Bobrow that showcased a well-written script with funny dialogue and an overall plot that helps the show land a season that’s been up and down but definitely an improvement over the show’s first season. We’ll get into those deep waters next week, until then…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
