Review: Bob’s Burgers  “Like a Candle In The Gym”

Overview

Linda forces everyone to go on a family walk; the kids stumble onto a bizarre conspiracy theory.

Our Take

This week’s episode of Bob’s Burgers written by Lindsey Stoddart is a classic example of the Emmy-winning series taking a simple premise and turning it into hijinks, in this case…a walk. And boy did Lindsey hit the nail on the head with Linda having the nerve to take this walk with brand-new shoes that are low-cut complete with ankle socks which is a recipe for a disaster. I’ve been there on more than a few times, especially on many a Jersey Shore boardwalks, and it is NOT a fun day at the beach. Unfortunately for me I didn’t have a Bob around to pick me up, attempt to fasten sugar packets, or push me around in a cart, but Bob really is the type of father/husband that probably deserves sainthood.

This week’s episode also has us spending a great deal of time with Megan (Abbi Jacobson) as she gets into one of her silly conspiracies featuring Coach Blevins and boy is it a doozy. When even Louise is calling you crazy considering all of the crazy shit Louise has gotten into over the years, you know you’ve gone off the deep end.

Overall, this week’s episode of Bob’s Burgers is a simple but lovable premise delivered by lovable characters that continue to showcase why they probably are running out of shelf space for all of the Emmys.
